Samsung, Olympic Torch Relay Vehicle

Samsung Olympic Torch Relay Promotional Vehicle

Samsung commissioned this fully custom vehicle to follow the Olympic torch as it toured around the UK in 2012. Following athletes around the country in the build-up to the Olympic games, the brief was to incorporate the power of light. A Scania truck was used as the base vehicle, and a complex folding roof system was designed to allow it to fit under low bridges in the country’s historic areas. A streamlined design was created, taking detailing from speed boats to shape the front and rear roof visors. There were two x 6m long high definition LED screens on each side with a fully operating studio inside, as well as VIP entertainment areas above and below the main deck.
