Neon Golden, an Austrian artist collective, has created an installation mimicking the movements of fireflies. This immersive installation, SWARM, acts as an irregular 3D display. 1920 LEDs organized as a pointcloud are hanging in various heights from the ceiling. Through the movement of the visitors within the installation the LEDs are lightening up and changing position horizontally; one can experience SWARM not only visually, but also acoustically.
The piece made its debut at the Olympus Photography Playground in Vienna in February 2015.
