Ben Rousseau has exhibited work and partaken in projects and symposiums worldwide, creating lighting artworks, sculptures, and installations. Here is a small selection of that work. Using his love of repetitive geometry and form, he delights in using lighting uniquely and poignantly to amplify the beauty of materials and spaces.
Ben Rousseau worked with over 70 artists to realize the vision of architect Alex Haw at Burning Man with this stand-alone art installation. Working in tandem with the lead construction and build, the creation was constructed in the hostile environment of the infamous Black Rock Desert in Nevada, US. The LED-lit viewing platform was made from CNC cut plywood forms, which were intricately assembled and lit using a complex RGB lighting system. The result rose majestically from the desert floor so visitors could survey the infamous Black Rock City and the festival in all its dystopian glory.
